University Catholic Leadership Board Applications


 

President

President: Proposes Jesus Christ and Forms His Disciples as “The Face” of University Catholic at his/her school.

  • The president models servant leadership by praying daily, adoring the blessed sacrament weekly, receiving the sacraments regularly, adhering to Church teaching and precepts and being a Christian witness for the rest of the board and fellow students.
  • The president upholds the vision of UCat and supports the Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry as the primary guide and liaison for the dimension heads and leads the board.
  • The president shapes the board’s vision and trajectory by monitoring team dynamics and handling new challenges as they arise.
  • The president sets the agenda for board meetings and communicates effectively what the Boards needs beforehand to the Chaplain and the Director of Campus Ministry.
  • The president frequently attends, helps out with, and actively participates in/at UCat events.
  • The president meets regularly with the Chaplain and the Director of Campus Ministry and other UCat Presidents to coordinate efforts with the larger UCat community.


  Vice President

Vice-President: Proposes Jesus Christ and Forms His Disciples by being an assistant and support to the president in his/her mission and acts in his/her behave when he/she is not present.

  • The vice-president models servant leadership  by praying daily, adoring the blessed sacrament weekly, receiving the sacraments regularly, adhering to Church teaching and precepts and being a Christian witness for the rest of the board and fellow students
  • The vice-president assists the president in his/her mission and in supporting the heads of the dimensions in collaboration with the president.
  •  The vice-president is responsible for overseeing, supporting and assisting the Roman Rush chairs.
  • The vice-president frequently attends, helps out with, and actively participates in/at UCat events.
  • The vice-president meets regularly with the president, the Chaplain and the Director of Campus Ministry to help coordinating efforts with the larger UCat community.


  Secretary

 

Secretary: Proposes Jesus Christ and Forms His Disciples by supporting the president and vice-president in his/her mission.

  • The secretary models servant leadership by praying daily, adoring the blessed sacrament weekly, receiving the sacraments regularly, adhering to Church teaching and precepts and being a Christian witness for the rest of the board and fellow students
  • The secretary in conjunction with the president and the vice-president upholds the vision of UCat and supports the Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry by recording minutes at board meetings in order to maintain a concrete record of information shared at meetings and cohesive stream of information for easy reference.
  • The secretary helps the president to set the agenda for board meetings and communicates effectively with the Chaplain and the Director of Campus Ministry.
  • The secretary works with UCat’s Administrative Assistant and Director of Campus Ministry to communicate through social media, emails and Flocknote.
  • The secretary frequently attends, helps out with, and actively participates in/at UCat events.


  Logistics Coordinator

 

Logistics Coordinator: Proposes Jesus Christ and Forms His Disciples by organizing and ensuring a smooth operation of UCat’s events and activities.

  • The logistics coordinator models servant leadership by praying daily, adoring the blessed sacrament weekly, receiving the sacraments regularly, adhering to Church teaching and precepts and being a Christian witness for the rest of the board and fellow students
  • The logistic coordinator is responsible for booking on-campus spaces, organizing Sunday Supper, and retreats, in conjunction with the Director of Campus Ministry.
  • The logistic coordinator conducts weekly check ins with the Director of Campus Ministry. He/she maintain a notebook of information and proposals regarding events and goals. As well is responsible to have the after-event evaluation done.
  • The logistics coordinator frequently attends, helps out with, and actively participates in/at UCat events.


  Head Sacristan

 

Head Sacristan: Proposes Jesus Christ and Forms His Disciples by planning, organizing, and executing all UCat’s liturgical events.

  • The head sacristan models servant leadership by  by praying daily, adoring the blessed sacrament weekly, receiving the sacraments regularly, adhering to Church teaching and precepts and being a Christian witness for the rest of the board and fellow students
  • The head sacristan is responsible for organizing, setting up and clean up all liturgical events.
  • The head sacristan is responsible to letting the Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry know the needs for liturgical materials – candles, incense, charcoal, etc.
  • The head sacristan coordinates with Spiritual Dimension and insures that all liturgical positions are covered for each Mass (Servers for Mass, Lectors, Cantors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Ushers).
  • The head sacristan frequently attends, helps out with, and actively participates in/at UCat events.

University Catholic Dimension Heads Applications

Human Dimension Heads: Propose Jesus Christ and Form His Disciples by promoting the health of the social fabric of the community. They work to create opportunities for people to feel welcome in the community, to make new friends, and to foster life-long, virtuous friendships. Responsible for planning and putting on parties, coffee houses, outreach events, and all things social. Future Saints of America (FSA), our intramural sports team, is also supported and organized by the Human Pillar Head.

 

Apostolic Dimension Heads: Propose Jesus Christ and Form His Disciples by seeking to support the community’s desire to love and evangelize our neighbor in immediate and tangible ways. They help coordinate service opportunities inside and outside of campus boundaries. In addition to other corporeal and spiritual works of mercy, the following are organized, Dismas House, Room in the Inn, 40 days for life, Rise Against Hunger, etc.

 

Spiritual Dimension Heads: Propose Jesus Christ and Form His Disciples by leading the UCat community in spiritual growth, specifically through prayer, the sacraments, and participation in the liturgical life of the Church. They are responsible, in collaboration with the Head Sacristan, for coordinating, scheduling and training liturgical ministers – lectors, cantors, altar servers, sacristans and EMHCs – for daily and Sunday Mass. They coordinate various spiritual activities, including Adoration, Holy Spirit nights, and Penance services.

 

Intellectual Dimension Heads: Propose Jesus Christ and Form His Disciples by working to promote the truths of Jesus and his Church. They help create opportunities to undo the errors/lies of the world and to promote the freedom which is found only in the Truth. This dimension often organizes discussions or lectures on relevant/challenging issues about the Faith.
